Hi, I'm Annie Shan, a high school student from Brooklyn, New York. I enjoy teaching younger students math inside and outside school and collaborating with my peers to work on exciting STEM curriculum design projects. My personal experience in various different school systems and my passion for math, a subject that has given me countless moments of both joy and frustration, have led me to critically rethink about what math education can and should be. Therefore, I founded Mindset Math with my friend Rebecca, hoping to leverage the power of youth coalition-building to inspire students and nurture their love for learning in math and beyond. In the future, I aspire to study cognitive science or psychology and pursue a career in teaching, educational policy, and non-profit leadership.

Hi, I am Rebecca Yin, a high school junior from Atlanta, Georgia. I am the co-founder of Mindset Math! Realizing the importance of STEM (especially math) education and a lack of interest in these traditional subjects, I wanted to transform students’ attitude and open their minds on the STEM world! Personally I really enjoying studying different STEM subjects, physics, earth science, environmental science, and more. I am more than excited to teach kids diverse applications of STEM in real life and the connection between different STEM subjects. Seeing kids transforming their mindsets has been one of the most exciting moments in my life.
