Happy Tail Summer Camp

Annie: In May 2024, I taught seven Mindful Mathletes workshops at the Happy Tails summer camp in Atlanta. One girl, initially feeling out of place as the only female in the math class, wanted to quit. After I encouraged her to stay, she became one of the most engaged students, collaborating actively and excelling in problem-solving. By the end of the week, all students demonstrated enthusiasm, teamwork, and curiosity, showcasing the program's impact. One boy even cried on the last day because he enjoyed the math classes so much and didn't want the camp to end!
