Founders
Hi, I'm Annie Shan, a high school junior at BASIS Independent Brooklyn. As someone enthusiastic about interdisciplinary education, I always hope to inspire younger students in various fields through innovative STEAM curricula. My personal experience in diverse and contrasting school systems also led me to rethink critically about education--what it means to children and how I can collaborate with like-minded peers to make it more constructive and engaging. Therefore, I founded Mindset Math and joined the teaching squad. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting and baking!

Hey! I am Rebecca Yin, a junior at Woodward Academy (Atlanta, GA). I am the co-founder and instructor for workshops of Mindset Math. I am passionate to assist with children's education, especially in STEM subjects, as I found a way to excel. I would also like to bring these approaches to 4th to 8th graders across the United States to eliminate math anxiety. Because math is fun! I'm also interested in climate change solutions and public awareness.

Hi! I’m Fiona, and I’m a freshman at my high school in New York. I’m passionate about STEM and I love art & crochet. Practically bursting at the seams with ideas, I’m super excited to teach kids about the correspondence between math, science, and crochet. Hi everyone! I am Nomgoljin, a high school student at the International School of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. Being interested in math and all my science subjects since I was a little child, now I am sure that I will pursue a STEM-related major in university. I’m Alex, a high school senior from the Bay Area. I’m a bilingual student fluent in English and Spanish working as a TA for a CC course. My first-ever teaching experience dates back to middle school when I read books and helped kindergarteners with handwriting. Since then, I’ve taken many side jobs instructing students. Hello, my name is David Wei. I am currently a high school junior studying at Guangzhou Foreign Language School. I have spent most of my educational journey in Australia and China. Through my learning experience in both countries, I’ve seen too many children with great potential who lack the resources to excel, and this inspired me to put effort into bridging the educational gap and giving every student with the potential a chance to shine. I advocate for global education as every student should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. In addition to studying full-time at school, I frequently create educational content and share them online for students all across the world via social media platforms. Since I love teaching, especially in STEM subjects, it is my honor and pleasure to do so for creating a fair educational environment for students with less opportunity. I hope that I will contribute to the future world where learning is not a privilege, but a right.

Hi! My name is Reese Stiff, I’m a freshman at Woodward Academy and I am a volunteer for the Mindset Math workshops. As a student, I love expanding my knowledge and exercising my brain with challenging math courses, and I enjoy teaching it to others even more. A fun fact about me is I am a Varsity Cheerleader at Woodward!
